The Old Norse form of the city's name was Drafn, and this was originally the name of the inner part of Drammensfjord. The fjord is, however, probably named after the river Drammenselva (Norse Drǫfn), and this again is derived from drǫfn f 'wave'.[5] The coat-of-arms is from modern times. They were granted on 17 November 1960. The arms has a silver-colored column on top a silver-colored bedrock crossed with a silver-colored key and sword against a blue background.[6] It is based upon the old seal dating from 1723 for Bragernes, one of the central parts of Drammen. The motto for Bragernes (in Latin) was In Fide Et Justitia Fortitudo (English: in faith and justice is strength), and the items in the seal are referring to this: key = faith, sword = justice, column on rocks = strength.[7] ... Rock carvings at Åskollen and Austad are 6000 to 7000 years old, and are the first signs of human activity in the area. The largest rock carving at Åskollen depicts a moose. Drammen originally consisted of three small seaports: Bragernes (on the northern side of the Drammenselva river) and Strømsø and Tangen (both on the southern side of the river). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drammen
Over draaien gesproken:

Aass Brewery is a modern industrial company with deep roots in the old beer brewing traditions. Culture is an integral part of our identity and we see it as our task to raise the status of beer in Norway. In earlier times, there were 12 breweries locally, and now Aass Brewery is the only one left. We have a central position in the urban scene and are still in the same location where the original business started in 1834. The production of soft drinks started in 1869 and is still an important area for Aass Brewery. In addition to being co-owner of A / S Solo, we produce varieties of carbonated soft drinks and soda water. https://web.archive.org/web/20110724174558/http://english.aass.no/about

The Norwegian beer market has a lot of limitations and traits that are often hard to understand. That means we are pretty used to explaining why products, packaging, marketing and the beer culture itself is configured in a certain way. ... The Norwegian rules and legislation regarding alcohol is among the strictest in the world. The alcohol tax is very high and to sell alcohol you need a sales permit either for on-trade or off-trade. You can not combine the two. The sales tax is also calculated on top of the alcohol tax. The legal age for drinking alcohol is 18 years for beer, wine and distilled products up to 21 % ABV. Then the legal age for drinking liquor, and other products above 21 % ABV, is 20 years. Grocery shops are only permitted to selling alcohol up to 4.7 % ABV. Above that threshold, there is a state controlled monopoly with liquor stores that is highly regulated. There is also restrictions on opening hours for alcohol sales. The alcohol limit for driving is 0.02. This means the market for non-alcoholic beers are strong, defined in Norway as up to 0.7 % ABV. Most breweries also have a lot of beers in the 4.5-4.7 % ABV range, because it can be sold in grocery stores. It is not allowed to sell products with alcohol in kiosk, petrol stations or similar type of outlets. ... Basically marketing of alcoholic products above 0.7 % ABV towards the Norwegian consumer is not allowed. Even marketing non-alcoholic products with the same logo as alcoholic products are not allowed. There is also restrictions on campaign pricing in both the on-trade and off-trade markets. We have some exceptions like having a point of sale medallion on draft equipment, but the limitations are affecting everything we do. In the B2B market there are not limitations, but this means we do not have the same amount of marketing material breweries in other countries have. ... The preferred delivery unit from Aass Brewery for off-trade sales is 0.33 or 0.5 can in plastic shrink, delivered in tray on EURO pallet. It is the most efficient packaging and most commonly used for the Norwegian market. We also provide 0.33 glass bottles in tray wrapped in plastic on EURO Pallet. In Norway the recycling system is well developed and we have the highest rate of recycling of cans in the world, because of a refund system as a joint venture between retailers and suppliers. Both cardboard and plastics are also collected for recycling at the consumers housing, as long as it is sorted into separate materials. For on-trade sales, most volume are sold as draft beer from kegs. Locally we distribute by tank truck. For the rest of the country we deliver in stackable EURO norm steel kegs with G coupler. The steelkegs needs CO2 for pushing the beer. We can also deliver as Petainer with G coupler and keykegs with keykeg coupler. Keykegs do only need air compressor. https://www.aass.no/en/articles/what-you-are-not-allowed-to-do-that/

The Aass Brewery company started as a trading company in Drammen in 1834, and delivered, among other things, lumber and shipping supplies, bakery and ran a small brewery and sold grain and malt to the local brewers. The brewery had no packaging and therefore so-called pot beer was sold to residents who took their own bins, buckets etc. (1 pot = 0.96 liters). The farmer’s son Poul Lauritz Aass worked at Hassel Ironworks before he was 16 years old. In 1852, he left home and went to Drammen for the "pursuit of happiness". In 1860 together with a friend bought the small company with bakery, business, trade and shipping interests, the brewery and all. The joy was however short-lived. The great fire in Drammen in 1866 also hit the small brewery. The two friends separated, and LAURITZ was left, 30 years old, with a pile of debris but masses of enthusiasm. This was the real start of the company we now know as Aass Brewery. The company was built up again and already the following year, in 1867, the operation was in full swing. Lauritz, who came from poor circumstances out in the country, was an important person in Drammen. He was Mayor of Drammen in 1895 and 1896, Chairman of the Drammen’s Dramatic Society, and founded both the National Brewery in Oslo and The Brewery Association (1901) and much, much more (including being co-owner of several other breweries). Lauritz died in 1904, and the company was divided equally among his nine children. This was the beginning of the stock-company P. LTZ. AASSs Brewery, which has been in family ownership from this time and is still operated by the family's fourth generation. https://web.archive.org/web/20110724174428/http://english.aass.no/the_aass_history/cms/9

Haandbryggeriet is a Norwegian brewery founded in 2005 by Jens Maudal, Rune Eriksen, Arne Eide and Egil Hilde. The brewery was situated at the site of an old textile factory in Drammen, then in a railroad yard, and now resides in an old industrial building.[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haandbryggeriet
Their brewing equipment was bought used in England and has a capacity of about 900 liters per batch. Production in 2006 was near 40,000 liters. In 2012, production was expected to be approximately 350,000 liters, using an 800 liter brewing equipment. In 2013, they upgraded yet again, to a 5,000 liter brewing tank.[2] Haandbryggeriet offer a number of beers, most of which are available domestically from the Vinmonopolet and grocery stores. They also export much of their beer, especially to the United States. The beer they brew is not filtered, pasteurized or artificially carbonated, qualifying them as real ales. Haandbryggeriet has also begun importing specialty beers from highly regarded microbreweries abroad, including Brouwerij De Molen, De Dolle Brouwers, Jolly Pumpkin and Southern Tier. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haandbryggeriet
... 8% https://mydearbeer.com/bierpakket-bestellen/of-wood-smoke-barrel-aged-smoked-lager-haand-bryggeriet/
Haandbryggeriet Better Days Ahead Haandbryggeriet Haandbryggeriet Better Days Ahead is een Modern Brown Ale. Het bier heeft een alcoholpercentage van 7,5%. https://www.bierista.nl/brouwerij/haandbryggeriet
Haandbryggeriet Haand-Bayer (4,5%) is een amberkleurig Beiers bier. Het bier smaakt moutig en zoet.
Haandbryggeriet Haand Endelig Fredag!
